Google announced the expansion of Chromebox for Meetings on June 24, which will now support multiple monitors and an extra microphone for your video conference, as per reports.

Google said through its blog post, “Chromebox for meetings now supports larger meeting rooms, so groups of up to twenty can seamlessly sync with colleagues around the world and still feel like they’re in the same place.”

Organizations like Netflix, Whirlpool Corporation and Foursquare have tested Chromebox for meetings for the large room and Google says “their users have enjoyed the video quality of the HD meetings.”

“Expanding Chromebox for meetings to larger rooms continues to improve Whirlpool Corporation's face-to-face collaboration across our global meeting rooms, and with the price point and simple installation, we're able to bring room-to-room video conferencing to many more people,” Google’s blog quoted Troy McKim, Sr. Manager, Collaboration at Whirlpool Corporation, as saying. “In addition, Google's continuous enhancements to Chrome device management makes it easy for my team to remotely monitor the status of our global Chromebox for meetings units,” explained McKim.

The updated version of Chromebox for Meetings will cost $1,999, which is double the cost of the small room package, reports ZDNet and the publication also mentioned that Chromebox for Meetings cost also includes the first year of management and support fees. The pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) USB camera that will come attached to the included Chromebox will capture all local participants in full 1080p and connect upto a pair of monitors, as per the ZDNet report.

A second microphone also comes along the new package, which means that participants sitting at the back can be heard by all other participants of the meetings. The search engine giant has also included some Chrome management tools that will improve the experience as well and admins can supervise the health of the Chrome devices from remote locations. Google will also expand the availability of Chromebox for Meetings to additional regions later this year, according to the ZDNet report.
