The viewers expect to see a new Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) in “The Good Wife” Season 7. Alicia has lost an estranged lover to death, learned to be friends with the husband she once despised, started her own firm only to lose it to partners she chose, and dipped her feet until they got stung in the muddled waters of politics. What happens next?

“The Good Wife” has lost two important characters in its last two seasons. Will Gardner (Josh Charles) died in Season 5, while Kalinda Sharma (Archie Panjabi) walked away after a crisis with Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter) in Season 6. Alicia may not be half as affected when Kalinda left as she was when Will died. Still, Kalinda leaving is expected to create a ripple effect in the series; Alicia Florrick could still experience some need to adjust because of that.

Will Alicia or her former co-managing partner Cary (Matt Czuchry) hire a new private investigator? This alone could open a whole new storyline in the series. Add to that Alicia’s potential partnership with Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox), and the viewers are in for a lot of changes in “The Good Wife” Season 7.

Will Alicia really partner up with Louis Canning after she gave him a speech on how he would not be able to deceive her again? The news of Matthew Goode leaving hints at the likelihood of Alicia agreeing to partner with Canning. Alicia is likely to set aside their differences since Finn Polmar (Goode) already reneged on their previous agreement over a partnership.

Politics is behind her (or so it seems). The legal firm she founded is cutting her out to favor a V.I.P. client (Oliver Platt’s RD). These noted, Alicia's best bet at the end of “The Good Wife” Season 6 is a fierce partnership with Louis Canning.

When “The Good Wife” Season 7 premieres in September or October (fall season in the U.S.) Alicia will start a new chapter again. This will move the series forward to (hopefully) richer storylines.

Alicia's venture into her husband's world exposed Alicia's character in a refreshing manner. This gives hope that the good wife herself will be further exposed to her audience in a different setting, with a different partner.
