Conservative Reese Dipple (Oliver Platt) says in episode 20 that he will, in effect, fire Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) should Alicia return to the firm. Prior to this, Alicia was all set to come back as a named partner. Finances and influence considered, Lockhart and the firm eventually decide to drop Alicia.

“I've always admired the show. I can safely say my own personal politics are not in the same neighborhood of R.D.'s, but it was such a civilized dialogue, and that's the thing that's important,” Platt told Zap2It in an interview about his character.

Toward the end of episode 20, Alicia and Peter (Chris Noth) discuss what happens next. He cheers him on. She feels terrible. Later, Alicia finds the farewell note that Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) left for her. Alicia breaks down in the final moments of the April 26 episode.

In “The Good Wife” Season 6, episode 21, a former client calls Alicia Florrick. She agrees to defend Dorian Missick (Brett Tatro) in a trial for murder. This takes Alicia down memory lane, back to when she started at Lockhart Gardner, according to the CBS episode synopsis.

Episode 21 is the penultimate episode of “The Good Wife” Season 6. Spoiler reports reveal viewers will see a bit more of Kalinda Sharma, after which Archie Panjabi is out of the series for good.

“The Good Wife” creators and showrunners (also husband and wife) Robert and Michelle King wrote episode 21. It was directed by Nelson McCormick.
