The Golden State Warriors (67-15) will try to finish a clean sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers (41-41) when the teams clash in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series on Monday. Earlier in the day, the Warriors announced the return of superstar forward Kevin Durant, who missed the previous two games due to a strained left calf.

Despite getting Durant back, the Warriors enter the game with uncertainty surrounding head coach Steve Kerr. After missing Saturday's 119-113 Game 3 victory, Kerr announced Sunday evening that he is struggling with symptoms due to his surgically repaired back and it may affect his availability the rest of the playoffs. The Warriors announced that associated head coach Mike Brown will lead the team in Kerr's absence.

Brown, who has previously coached the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers, feels that the team can continue its winning ways due to the strong foundation laid by Kerr. "The culture here, the foundation Steve has laid, the players are smart, the coaches I have around me -- that all puts you at ease. It turns into a real fluid situation. Everybody made it rather easy for me to make the adjustment," the acting head coach said, via ESPN.

Earlier on Monday, Brown also addressed Durant's return. "Our training staff felt it was best to sit him (Durant) out, and so that's why he sat out (of Game 3). Obviously, Kev's a tough guy and a tough-minded guy, and he probably was ready to go as soon as it happened. But our training staff didn't clear him till tonight," added Brown. The Warriors will continue to play without injured second unit players Shaun Livingston (finger) and Matt Barnes (ankle).

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers will be without blossoming centre Jusuf Nurkic, who started Game 3 after missing the previous nine games with a fractured right leg. The Blazers are trying to make history by becoming the first team to bounce back from a 0-3 deficit in a best-of-seven series. "It's never been done, but I'm not one to quit, and I'm very optimistic. You feel that frustration in letting (Game 3) slip. We blew the opportunity, but we still have games to play. With a sweep on the line, we've got to have some pride and try to go get this next one, and then go from there, one at a time," said star point guard Damian Lillard.
