The Golden State Warriors (35-6) will host the Oklahoma City Thunder (25-18) at the Oracle Arena Wednesday in the second showdown of the season between former teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

The Warriors, fresh off a monumental 126-91 rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers, are firing on all cylinders and would look to win their fifth consecutive game since their 117-106 win over the Sacramento Kings last week.

When the Warriors hosted Westbrook & Co. on Nov. 3, Golden State trounced Oklahoma City by a 122-96 margin courtesy of Durant's 39 points including a season-high tally of seven three-pointers. After that game, Durant and Westbrook refused to greet one another, fuelling fire to the notion that the once Thunder teammate endured an ugly split last summer when the former took his talents to the Bay Area.

Golden State Warriors vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Not a regular game for Kevin Durant

Ahead of Wednesday's game, Durant acknowledged playing the Thunder, the team that he spent the first nine seasons of his career with, will always be one that will merit extra attention from the players, fans and media. "It's never going to be a regular game for me (vs Thunder). I'm just going to play. There's nothing serious. We got the first one out the way, and we're just going to play the next game," he told ESPN.

According to several reports, Durant and Westbrook haven't spoken since their break-up last summer. And when asked if there had been any communication in recent weeks, an infuriated Durant said: "I talked about that (situation) already. I'm not talking about that right now. Anything about the game, I'll talk to you. All that other stuff, I don't have anything to say."

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson, who will have the difficult task of guarding MVP candidate Russell Westbrook, said the key to the team's recent success is intensity on the defensive end. "When we play well defensively, we're hard to beat. We got stops and got in the open court. We did a good job of that (against the Cavs)."

After hosting the Thunder on Wednesday, the Warriors will travel to Houston to face the other MVP candidate, James Harden, and his Rockets on Friday. They will stay on the road before returning home to host the Los Angeles Clippers on Jan. 28.
