The Golden State Warriors (47-9) will host the Los Angeles Clippers (35-21) in a nationally-televised game at the Oracle Arena on Thursday. The teams would take the court barely hours after the NBA trade deadline (3:00 p.m. ET, 7:00 a.m. Friday AEDT) besides returning to action for the first time since the All-Star break.

It would be the fourth and final regular season game between the teams after Golden State's dominant victories on Dec. 7 (115-98), Jan. 28 (144-98) and Feb. 2 (133-120). The Warriors-Clippers rivalry escalated after Los Angeles beat Golden State 4-3 in a fiercely competitive first round series in the 2014 playoffs. Since then, the Warriors have dominated the Clippers 10-1; they haven't faced each other in the previous two playoffs.

The Clippers, who could be getting some help at the end of the NBA Trade Deadline, will try to end the team's lengthy losing streak to Golden State, in an effort to erase some psychological scars ahead of a potential playoff series later in the year. It's common knowledge that a fully healthy Clippers squad wouldn't be pushovers in a seven-game series against the Warriors or the San Antonio Spurs.

Zaza Pachulia and David West healthy again for Warriors

Zaza Pachulia and David West would return to the Warriors team after missing a handful of games due to injury. West missed his last 14 games due to a fractured left thumb sustained on Jan. 18. “I would say there’s a good chance both of them would play tomorrow (against the Clippers). We’ll see," Kerr told CSN Bay Area after the Warriors' practice session on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Kerr acknowledged that the returning Pachulia would have to win back the starting spot that JaVale McGee has thrived in, for the last eight games. “I haven’t decided yet (on the starting centre). I’ve got to make that decision. I want to make sure first that (Pachulia) is healthy. And it depends, too, on what happens with David. Is David healthy? Are they both playing? There’s kind of a domino effect on all of this stuff.

“I would anticipate that, ultimately, Zaza will be back starting. I liked that whole rotation. JaVale has helped us dramatically, and he’ll be playing a role. It’s a centre-by-committee situation. But right away, we’ll see how we play it," added Kerr. The Golden State Warriors are expected to have a low-profile NBA Trade Deadline even as 29 other teams scramble to enhance their rosters for the second half of the season.
