It appears that GOG.com is going places. The website run by CD Projekt Red has struck a deal with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment to sell several of the company’s games while also making them DRM free. The first batch of Warner Bros games are a mix of original IP and licensed games, with “Mortal Kombat” and “Lego Harry Potter” easily being the biggest names of the first batch in terms of recognition.

The first few additions include “Lego Batman: The Video Game,” critical indie darling “Bastion,” the “F.E.A.R.” Trilogy,” the first three “Mortal Kombat” games and the two games in the “Lego Harry Potter” series. As a special perk, all of the games – except for the “Mortal Kombat” ones – are currently 60% off for the week, so fans of any of these games can get them now if they want them cheap.

"We are very happy to see another of the gaming's juggernauts venture into the DRM-free waters with us," said Olev Klapovsky to Gamespot.

This partnership was announced by a headline from the GOG site. The website representative expressed happiness and excitement over the new partnership, while recognizing that Warner Bros joining GOG is a big deal for DRM Free gaming. More titles from WB games are supposedly on their way to the store.

Warner Bros games will be joining other big name companies like Square Enix, Ubisoft, EA and Activision among others. GOG also has the rights to a few “Star Wars” games from Lucas Arts and a DRM free movies secion.

Site owner CD Projekt Red are currently working on one of the most anticipated games for 2015: “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” The game has been delayed twice now due to bug fixing, with the creators already admitting that they underestimated the previous time tables given to them and are hoping that “The Witcher 3” will blow expectations.

For those who don’t know, DRM stands for “Digital Rights Management.” DRM is the practice for limiting what people can do with digital media by imposing technical restrictions on them, leaving the options for what can be done with said digital media slim to none.
