A UK retailer recently listed “God of War 4” for the PlayStation 4. While the game has no release date yet, it can be ordered and reserved by those who want to get it in advance. This is interesting since there has been no announcement from Sony regarding “God of War 4,” though that could always change.

The retailer is Simply Games. They’re pretty legitimate, according to Attack of the Fanboy, as the website has won best independent online retailer at the MCV awards in 2013 and 2014.

With the PlayStation Experience and the Game Awards coming up, it’s possible that “God of War 4” could be announced on either event. It seems more likely that it will be announced on PlayStation Experience, since the series has always been a PlayStation exclusive, though the Game Awards does have several secret announcements planned.

It wasn’t too long ago that “God of War 3” was re-released on PS4 with better graphics and new trophies, so it seems like there was more to the HD remake than previously realised. The third game felt like a finale to the story of Kratos, so it will be interesting to see if the possible fourth game includes him or if the title has a new protagonist.

Kratos essentially died in “God of War 3.” While there have been hints that he might still be alive, the possibility might ruin the the arc that the character has reached. It’s therefore possible that there is a new protagonist in the game. Perhaps the title will star Ares, the previous God of War, or even a new character.

One thing remains consistent in the “God of War” games though, and it’s the combat, which is how the series got off the ground in the first place. The first two games on the PS2 and the finale on PS3 all had satisfying combat.

Meanwhile, Sony Santa Monica, the developers of “God of War,” recently teased a new project. Whether its “God of War 4” or a new IP is anyone’s guess, though it looks like PlayStation 4 owners have something to be excited about. The game can be bought early through Simply Games.
