A new opening credits sequence of “Girl Meets World” was recently featured, showing the returning cast members of the beloved Disney series.

The video lasted under one minute and presented the four friends in the main circle, namely Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter), Lucas Friar (Peyton Meyer) and Farkle Minkus (Corey Fogelmanis).

The other cast members were also shown, namely Cory Matthews (Ben Savage), Auggie Matthews (August Maturo) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel). Creators Michael Jacobs and April Kelly were also presented in the opening credits, before the series title appeared in the end.

With the opening theme song, “Take on the World,” playing in the background, the four friends were shown fooling around on a sidewalk setting. The other cast members followed and joined in the fun, sharing kisses, dancing and throwing popcorn and water at each other. The song matched the focus of “Girl Meets World” Season 3, as the friends take on new challenges in the wonderful world of high school.

In an interview with TheWrap, creator Michael Jacobs shared that the budding love triangle between Riley, Maya and Lucas will continue to play through the new season, although it will not be the main focus. The love triangle will eventually be resolved by the half of the season.

The story will delve into deeper topics that young teenagers face in high school. According to Jacobs, high school is the most confusing, terrible and wonderful springboard into college and the rest of your life. The episodes will hopefully aid young teenagers in making wiser decisions as they observe the characters and their friendships.

A teaser for the premiere previously showed the characters dealing with their new environment as well as new people in high school. Their relationships will be tested and they have to exert more effort to maintain their bond or succumb to the trials that their new school poses. There will expectedly be arguments and adjustments in Season 3.

“Girl Meets World” will return with a two-part season premiere on June 3 and June 5. More updates and details are expected soon.
