'Girl Meets World' season 3 episode 8 recap: Lucas is about to make a big decision, show might end way differently than expected

“Girl Meets World” season 3 episode 8 had an intriguing way of showing that the series is more than just about a love triangle. This is because Lucas Friar (Peyton Meyer) just decided to end the long chase and has revealed who he picks between Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter).
At the start, Lucas claims that he knows what he wants while keeping the audience at the edge of their seats for his sweet decision. Riley and Maya are seen spending some time imagining who would end up with him, which, of course, appeals very differently.
For the bubbly and intelligent Riley, she had a vision of her and Lucas in a spy movie setting as they save the world from all sorts of danger. She imagined them in a classic ideal romance being eternally happy without any problems at all. All seemed entertaining, with several puns that even included Maya being reminded repeatedly of the age gap between her and Josh, Cory’s younger brother who came along as chaperone.
As it ends, all the love triangle drama might not just matter because of a handsome guy working at the front counter of the ski lodge, whom Riley first meets as the episode ends. If Riley ends up spending a little more time with this guy and, eventually, falling for him, things could get awkward if Lucas does choose her.
This episode showcased several parallelisms with “Boy Meets World” and could possibly point to the ultimate ending of this series. The most obvious one is that Lucas, Riley and Maya are about to finish the love triangle issue at the Ski Lodge. Fans of the older series might recognize that place where Cory Matthews ( Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence ( Daniel Fishel) almost called it quits. Therefore, the Ski Lodge might just be as pivotal in “Girl Meets World” as it was in the original franchise.
