'Girl Meets World' season 2 episode 26 spoilers: No love triangle happening yet; Riley proves that girls rock in 'Girl Meets STEM'

“Girl Meets World” will air next on Friday but may deviate from the previously reported love triangle. The episode, titled “Girl Meets STEM,” is expected to be fun, with Riley (Rowan Blanchard) showing that girls rock.

CarterMatt writes that the episode will start with Riley sensing that Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis), her lab partner, is reducing her participation in a science experiment. Corey will subsequently make Riley feel inferior by saying that he can do more between them. She and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) will try to set up a coup against the entire class, saying that girls can be as good as boys. She will begin an experiment alone, with Maya also making a huge sacrifice.

As shown in the promo video, the chemistry teacher will invite the whole class to a “journey of discovery,” which will create a rift between Riley and Farkle. It appears that Riley will be upset about Farkle being too arrogant.

The episode is expected to feature an inspirational message for young women -- that they should not be affected by people telling them what they are and are not capable of. STEM means Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The episode will empower women to stand up for themselves and be equally good as or even better than men in various activities and fields. The showrunners apparently wanted to focus on a currently sensitive topic for the audience – feminism.

There will be no love triangle in the upcoming plot, but this angle is expected to happen in the Season 3 episodes. Fans are looking forward to more of the tension among Riley, Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and Maya soon.

Previously, in Season 2 Episode 25, titled “Girl Meets the New Year,” the three best friends were featured in a vulnerable state and had been more open with their emotions. Season 2 of “Girl Meets World” will have two more episodes before coming to a close, which will respectively air on Jan. 8 and Jan. 22, 2016.

“Girl Meets STEM,” which is Season 2 episode 26 of the Disney series, will air next on Friday, Jan. 8. Season 3 will begin sometime in the first half of 2016.
