“Girl Meets World” has officially ended on Disney Channel, but series alum Corey Fogelmanis shows no signs of slowing down. Fogelmanis is heading to the big screen as he was cast in the upcoming film “#Squadgoals.”

Variety has reported that Corey has officially signed on to be part of the film as character Nate Squires. His character is a photographer who has a secret crush on Samantha Hodges (Kennedy Lea Slocum), the film’s female protagonist. Based on Corey's IMDb profile, the actor is also fond of photography just like Nate in “#Squadgoals.”

Samantha, on the other hand, is a teenage investigative journalist. She utilises her skills to discover what happened leading to the murder of her two classmates and contenders for a full-ride local scholarship.

Corey’s character will help “#Squadgoals” lead Samantha on the case. As he backs up the girl he secretly adores, his life gets complicated when he realises that he and Samantha are in danger.

It seems that Corey and the rest of “#Squadgoals” cast have already started shooting scenes for the film. The actor has recently taken to Twitter to update his fans about what is keeping him busy. He has shared a photo of him on set and captioned the post with “Day 3.” Some fans are quick to assume that his caption means he is on his third day of filming for “#Squadgoals.”

“#Squadgoals" is under the direction of Danny J Boyle from a script by Caron Tchampion.
Stan Spry and Eric Woods are producing the film.

The actor is best known for his portrayal of Farkle on“Girl Meets World.” Since the series has been cancelled by its home network, he has starred in the Blank Theatre's off-Broadway show, “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead.” He has also starred in “Peter Pan and Tinker Bell: A Pirates Christmas” at the Pasadena Playhouse in Southern California.

Meanwhile, Rowan Blanchard (Riley) is heading to the big screen as a guest star on “A Wrinkle in Time.” The film is an adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle novel of the same name. Her role is still being kept under wraps.

There is a chance that Corey and Blanchard will reunite in “Girl Meets World” if the series is picked up by a different network. Showrunner Michael Jacobs is reportedly in talks with potential home networks for his show. “Girl Meets World” aired in Australia through Disney Channel.
