A new “Tron” video game may be on the way if Giorgio Moroder’s recent statements are any indication. The Oscar-winning songwriter and composer recently teased the development of the game during an interview, when he said he is working with music producer Skrillex on the music for the new “Tron” video game.

Giorgio Moroder, who is known for his work on Brian de Palma's crime drama “Scarface,” recently spoke with Clash Music and revealed he is teaming up with Skrillex to compose the soundtrack of the new “Tron” video game. “I'm going to meet Skrillex next week when I'm back. I'm doing the music for a game for Disney's 'Tron,'" he said.

The 74-year-old has reportedly been recruited to provide a certain EDM heavyweight soundtrack to the game. Giorgio Moroder, who is said to be currently working on his new studio album provisionally titled “74 Is The New 24,” revealed he already has around five themes and some electronic stuff that he’s interested to present to Skrillex. “Let's see if he's interested in remixing or re-working one of the songs,” Moroder added.

There has so far been no news regarding the development of a new “Tron” video game. However, a report from Aint It Cool News noted that “Tron” has been added to an expansion pack for “Disney Infinity 2.0.” So it’s likely possible for a new “Tron” video game to be on the way. However, getting Giorgio Moroder and Skrillex to work on a soundtrack is said to be a high-end talent that fits a bigger game project, instead of a mere expansion. Likewise, according to the site in the interview, Moroder supposedly sounded like he is still going to start working on an upcoming title, whereas the “Tron” in the “Disney Infinity 2.0” expansion pack seems to already be available now. Thus, AIC supposed Giorgio Moroder and Skrillex’s collaboration is likely for to the new “Tron” video game and not for the expansion pack.

Slashfilm has reached out to Disney Interactive for comments on the said new “Tron” video game soundtrack that Giorgio Moroder and Skrillex will be working on. However, the studio declined to make “any comment at this time” and instead advised customers to visit www.disneyinteractive.com for news on latest product updates.
