George R. R. martin's new book "The World of Ice and Fire" will soon be hitting the market. There is still no news about the highly anticipated "Wings of Winter" from the same author. The upcoming book will explore the fantasy world of Westeros and explain some of the historic rivalries between the families in the Seven Kingdoms.

"The World of Ice and Fire" provides the readers with the historical stories that culminate into the recent events of the books "A Song of Ice and Fire." George R. R. Martin has teamed up with Elio M. Garcia, Jr and Linda Antonsson for the upcoming book. They are the owners of the fan site Westeros.org.

Fans of the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" and those who have been following the popular TV show "Game of Thrones" may find the book appealing. Some of the questions like who are The Children? What happened in the war between the First Men and the Children? are expected to be answered in this book.

Another fan favourite story is that of Aegon the Conqueror. The warrior king made all the kings in Seven Kingdoms to swear allegiance to him. He was able to defeat his enemies with the help of his dragons and it was he who built the Iron Throne with the blades of the defeated kings.

George R. R. Martin takes the readers through the long history of Westeros. The stories span from the Dawn Age, Age of Heroes, the arrival of the First men, the conquests of Aegon the Conqueror and end with the stories of Robert Baratheon's rebellion.

"The World of Ice and Fire" is expected to explore the history of the Houses of the Seven Kingdoms. Some of the great Houses include House Arryn, Baratheon, Greyjoy, Lannister, Martell, Tyrell, Stark, Targaryen and Tully. Readers may find that there are a few new Houses in the book "Winds of Winter."

George R. R. Martin may explain the historic reasons for the bitter rivalries among the great houses of the Seven Kingdoms. "The World of Ice and Fire" will be released by Oct 2014. The release date of highly anticipated book "Winds of Winter" has still not been confirmed and fans of the series may find some solace in reading the historical stories of Westeros.
