The Coalition’s awaited game for the Xbox One, “Gears of War 4” is looking at new angles to expand its universe. While it continues the legacy left by “Gears of War 3,” the continuing story will push the story forward.

Speaking with Game Informer, the developer revealed that it is looking to move forward into universe in big steps, to set up more than just what the trilogy can offer. Though an easy way would be to expand the universe, the developer has also looked at going deeper into previous old places. Not only will this allow for depth expansion, but this will also set up shop to use weapons of the past for the new generation of heroes.

This new generation is spearheaded by Marcus Fenix’s son JD. Even the angle in which the developer will allow players to go into “Gears of War 4” is with JD and his band AWOL from the military and with Outsiders.

Fans will be able to access “Gears of War 4” via a beta, but The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson told fans that this will be a beta that is still in the early phases of development. This means that what players will be able to play already features some of the builds in the game, albeit no highly polished.

“What you’re going to play is basically an alpha build of our multiplayer. That means there’s going to be issues, but it’s an actual beta,” said Fergusson to Game Informer.

Apart from the new direction of the story, GameSpot confirmed that split-screen will be available for co-op play. According to Fergusson, it’s one of the features of the franchise that the team cannot get rid of, so it would be nice to see how to plays in the overall game.

To get fans ready for the upcoming “Gears of War 4,” Amazon has already showcased two guides related to the game. Spotted by The Country Caller, these are the two official guides made for “Gears of War 4” that are already available for preorder.

According to the sources, the guides will provide a walkthrough of the single and multiplayer experience of the game. For those who want to play it safe on their run with the game can adapt the strategies presented in the “Gears of War 4” guide.

The guides will also include some well-designed maps to trace any collectibles alongside their locations. The guide will come in both a physical and digital version, the latter of which will be able to give players a chance to view them via smart devices.

Amazon has not yet listed a date for the guides. The existing images for the preorder page is also a placeholder, and thus very much subject to change.
