Gayle King adds to the growing list of people who thinks Caitlyn Jenner is a very brave person. For the CBS “This Morning” co-anchor, Caitlyn would be a game changer for the transgender community, adding that she could not imagine how it is to be “65 and not feel like you were yourself.”

Speaking with Page Six, King shared her admiration for Caitlyn. The TV journalist said that she is one of the many cheerleaders of the 65-year-old Olympian. The reason why she is “cheering her on big time” is because she believes Caitlyn would certainly have a positive effect on the many individuals having gender identity issues and struggling to be themselves. “I think there are people sitting at home right now thinking what to do and how to do it,” the 60-year-old shared. "They can see the way she’s handling it and she’s going to make a big difference,” she added.

She added that she is happiest about Caitlyn finally being able to live according to who she is. She added that she cannot imagine how Caitlyn felt, to be 65 and yet still struggling with her identity.

King’s words may be the sentiment of many but this does not mean everyone agrees, especially with the idea that Caitlyn would receive the ESPN’s Arthur Ashe Courage Award. Ever since the news of Caitlyn receiving the award was announced, many have provided their opinions as to why Caitlyn is “undeserving.” The most recent opposition came from famed sportscaster Bob Costas. The sportscaster claimed that ESPN’s decision to give Caitlyn the prestigious award should be labeled as a “crass exploitation play.” Moreover, the sportscaster believes the award should go to someone actively involved in sports.

Bruce Jenner’s transition to Caitlyn has been making waves since her Vanity Fair cover was released, with many dishing how they feel about it. Laverne Cox, the most famous transgender in America even gave her two cents on the matter. Cox lauded Caitlyn, saying she is really brave for being so open. But Cox thinks the media should stop focusing on Caitlyn’s looks and focus on the real issue. She added that she is really lucky for being able to transition in private, unlike Jenner.
