Last month, HBO confirmed that season 8 will be the last season of "Game of Thrones," and now Maisie Williams has spoken about why it’s the right move by executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

Maisie, "Game of Thrones" very own Arya Stark, shares some revelation into season 7 for those eager for some teasers. When season 7 of "Game of Thrones" premieres, it will signal in the beginning of the end and will deliver shorter seasons and story arcs that will be coming full circle.

However, this isn’t certainly as dismal as fans are making it out to be, or at least that’s how Maisie feels about it. After six years of playing Arya, Maisie seems more rational about the coming end than most. “Good things must come to an end or they’re not good anymore,” Williams told Variety. “It doesn’t last forever and we’ve done what we came to do, it’s time to wrap this up, and it will have the ending it was always supposed to have, and that’s very special.”

Season 7 will consist of seven episodes, while season 8 will be six episodes, for a total of 13 episodes.

Maisie acknowledged that it’s a sad event for "Game of Thrones" fans, but she pointed out that it’s still better than the alternative. She thought that padding the "Game of Thrones" story simply to keep the show running would be a disservice to its fans, whether they realise it or not.

Maisie has already read the scripts for season 7. She said this season is the wildest ride yet. “Sh-- gets real,” Williams tweeted and asked her followers to start preparing themselves now. Minutes later, she retracted that suggestion. Instead, Williams wrote, there is just no way to be prepared for season 7.
