“Game of Thrones” Season 7 is expected to reveal what Gregor Clegane really looks like under the helmet. Hafþór Björnsson has teased some behind the scenes pictures from the set to give the fans a glimpse of his character from the show.

[Spoiler alert]

Gregor was poisoned by Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal) in the trial by combat of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage). It was Qyburn (Anton Lesser) who used an unorthodox method to keep The Mountain alive, but the technique changed him.

When Cersei (Lena Headey) ordered Gregor to torture Septa Unella (Hannah Waddingham), fans eagerly waited to see what he looks like under the helmet. However, all the viewers got throughout the season was the fiery red eyes and the purple skin around it.

Now, Björnsson has shared some behind the scenes photos of his character. The picture shows how the powerful poison that Oberyn used has eaten away most parts of The Mountain’s skin. The actor may have spoiled what may have been a big revelation in “Game of Thrones” Season 7.

The fans, however, are excited with the picture. Gregor is expected to play an even bigger role next year, as he will be busy guarding Cersei, who has more enemies than anyone else in Westeros.

Filming of the next season is yet to begin. According to a report by Visir, the cast and crew will be returning to Iceland in January to start filming the scenes.

With winter finally arriving in Westeros, most of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 will be filmed a little later this year, as compared to the previous years. The production can’t take place in sunny weather, so the filming has been delayed this year. At least six major cast members of the show, playing important characters, are said to be heading to Iceland this January to film their scenes.
