A new teaser trailer of “Game of Thrones” season 7 featuring the sword Oathkeeper has been released. Meanwhile, a new theory based on the book series and the new casting for the show suggests that there could be an unexpected wedding in the North.

While HBO hasn’t announced a release date for the popular fantasy TV series yet, a new teaser has been released. The scene just shows the sword Oathkeeper, a sword made of Valyrian steel that initially belonged to Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) but was later given to Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie).

The teaser trailer [see below] apparently aired on HBO, but is yet to be officially released online. However, the video has already surfaced online.

Since this is a teaser, there isn’t much to see in the video. The fans do get to see the fine craftsmanship of the sword, but it isn’t clear who is holding it. There appears to be a black and red banner of some sort in the background. Will Brienne meet with Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) in “Game of Thrones” season 7? The following portion of the article contains potential spoilers.

Meanwhile, a new theory posted on Winter is Coming looks at the possibility of another wedding this year. In the book “A Dance with Dragons” by George R. R. Martin, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) marries off Alys Karstark to Magnar, a Wildling chieftain.

The marriage solved multiple problems for Jon. There have been tensions between the Karstarks and the Starks because Robb (Richard Madden) beheaded Lord Rickard (John Stahl) for killing Lannister prisoners. Alys has a claim to the Karhold, but her cousin Cregan wants to claim the seat of the House. She approached Jon Snow for help, and he arranged her marriage to save her from her cousin.

Alys’ marriage to a Wildling gave the Free Folk some legitimacy. The wedding created a new House- House of Thenn. This also helped Jon Snow with the problem of managing the unruly group a little better. According to the new theory, this subplot from the book series could be featured on the show this year.

Megan Parkinson is a new cast member of the show, and she will reportedly be playing the role of Alys Karstark. This suggests that it is possible for the show to adapt the wedding from the book. Since the character Magnar doesn’t exist on the show, the theory suggests that the wedding will take place between Alys and Tormund Giantsbane in “Game of Thrones” season 7.
