New pictures from the production set of “Game of Thrones” season 7 have leaked online. The pictures show Wildlings, Wights and the ship named The Silence. None of the main cast members are featured in the pictures, but the fans do get to see many extras and their costumes. The following article contains spoilers of the popular HBO TV series.

The pictures that leaked online start with a castle set. The first picture is that of a small room, and it is followed by a courtyard. There is a familiar lion symbol at the entrance, suggesting that this castle belongs to the Lannisters. Will the fans be taken to Casterly Rock this year? Casterly Rock is the main seat of power of the Lannisters, and it rightfully belongs to Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).

The next set of pictures show some of the extras dressed as the Unsullied and Lannister soldiers. The last picture is that of the Free Folk in the North, and the one before that is an extra playing the role of a Wight, which is basically a reanimated corpse in the army of the Night’s King.

There is also a huge ship featured in some of the pictures. The large kraken design makes it unmistakably an Iron island vessel. According to Watchers on the Wall this could be Euron Greyjoy’s (Pilou Asbæk) ship The Silence.

The name Silence has an interesting back story. According to the novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R. R. Martin, on which the HBO TV series is based, Euron’s ship has a crew of mutes, whose tongues were ripped out by the menacing captain. So the name of the ship is well suited.

Another way to emphasis the name of the ship is the front portion of the vessel, which is decorated by an iron statue of a mouth-less maiden. The leaked pictures don’t show this figure, so perhaps the TV series is making slight alterations to the design, when compared to the books, or the statue could be added digitally in the post production phase of development.

Filming of “Game of Thrones” season 7 may have already been completed. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) already announced that she is done with her work. However, HBO is yet to make a formal announcement of the completion of the filming. The studio is also yet to announce the release date of the show, which will be a little later than usual this year.
