A new trailer for Season 6 Episode 5 of “Game of Thrones” recently released. There will be a new character, reportedly named Kinvara (Ania Bukstein), who will have similarities with the red woman, Melisandre (Carice van Houten).

The Independent writes that R’hllor is a recognized religion in Westeros and Essos, so Kinvara, who also wears red robes and the same necklace as Melisandre, may be a priestess. Her equivalent in the novels may be Benerro, the head of the Red Temple of Volantis. Her purpose for being in Meereen may be revealed in the upcoming episode, titled “The Door.”

The official episode synopsis on HBO stated that Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) will be looking for a strange ally. The promo trailer showed Kinvara talking to Tyrion and Varys (Conleth Hill) in the royal chamber, telling the midget that knowledge has made him powerful, but there is still so much that he does not know.

Leaks from the auditions for the part of Kinvara revealed that she believes that Daenerys is AzorAhai, the prince that was promised. On the other hand, Melisandre believes that Jon Snow is the chosen one. Kinvara may be the unlikely ally that Tyrion is searching for, considering the dire circumstances in Meereen.

According to WatchersontheWall, English actress Tehmina Sunny read one scene featuring Kinvara, Tyrion and Varys in Meereen. Tyrion and Varys seem to be searching for her approval and support of Daenerys. Kinvara introduced herself to the two men as the High Priestess of the Red Temple of Volantis. Tyrion appeared to have invited her all the way to Meereen to have her priests convince the Meereenese that Daenerys is their true savior.

Kinvara answered that they did not need to persuade her, because she came to help. She believes that Daenerys is the promised one. She described her dragons as a gift from the Lord of Light. She agreed to help have the people obey the two in Daenerys’ absence. Varys also mentioned Melisandre, who falsely believed that Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) was the promised one.

At the end of the dialogue, the three talked about their common loyalty to the same queen. More updates and details on “Game of Thrones” are expected soon.
