Pictures from the production set of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 in Northern Ireland show armies converging in the north for a major battle that is said to be featured in episode 9. Meanwhile, a new report reveals how scenes of Tower of Joy will be shown in the TV series. [Spoiler alert]

Sources familiar with the developments of the popular TV series have told WatchersOnTheWall that a major battle for the control of Winterfell and the kingdom in the north will be waged in episode 9 of the show next year. The massive battle is said to involve at least six armies and the production crew is apparently calling it the “Battle of 6 Armies.”

The armies are carrying Stark banners and the banner men of House Mormont are said to be involved in the battle. One of the banners is speculated to belong to House Hornwood, who are the banner men of House Stark and whose lands border that of House Bolton. The Boltons currently control Winterfell and the kingdom of the north, thanks to their alliance with House Lannister.

The Imgur user who had posted pictures posted from the production set of “Game of Thrones” Season 6 has since deleted them. The pictures confirm the battle scene in the episode and the battle has been described as “epic.” It is, however, still not clear which other armies will be involved in the battle.

Meanwhile, production of the TV series also continues in Spain. According to a report by LosSieteReinos cast member Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) is at the production set of Castillo de Zafra, which is believed to be standing in for Tower of Joy on the show.

Wright’s presence on the set suggests that the flashback scene that may reveal the true parentage of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) may be told through one of Bran’s visions. The report confirms that the flashback scene will involve Lyanna Stark, who fans believe is the actual mother of Jon Snow.

The flashback scene in “Game of Thrones” Season 6 will also reportedly involve a battle. 14 horses are said to be involved in the battle scene that will be filmed at the Tower of Joy. Some trial runs are said to have been conducted recently and the an actor other than Ian McElhinney will reportedly play Barristan Selmy in this scene.
