“Game of Thrones” Season 6, episode 5, “The Door” will be a surprise for many viewers who are not aware that the HBO high-fantasy drama will be introducing a new Red Priestess in Mereen. She may play an important role in Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) quest for the Iron Throne.

Now that Melisandre (Carice van Houten) has proven her great powers by resurrecting Jon Snow (Kit Harington), there may be a clash in later episodes between the two Red Priestesses. It will be interesting to see how the new Red Priestess will bring Daenerys closer to the Iron Throne or prove to be her doom? What if she turns out to be villainous? Possibilities are endless.

HBO released seven photos to provide its viewers a glimpse of the upcoming fifth episode. However, neither the photos nor the episode 5 preview throw any light on the happenings in King’s Landing.

[Spoiler Alert] Bran Stark, who is under the tutelage of the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow), may not be taking his powers seriously as he seemingly gets locked in his dreams surrounded by White Walkers. He comes face to face with the Night’s King in the upcoming episode. His urgency to know more may land him in trouble. There is no sign of the Iron Islands in the released photos, though the preview clip does show Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) claiming her rulership of the Iron Islands.

Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), who has got back her eyesight, may be given a new assassination assignment by Jaqen H'ghar to prove her loyalty once again. Arya is seen walking in the Hall of Faces with her mentor.

There is also a possibility of a classic standoff between Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) back in Castle Black, as suggested by a photo. The clip also shows Sansa enquiring about Littlefinger’s knowledge of Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon). She will demand an answer from Petyr Baelish as to why he handed her over to the monster.

In another photo, Sansa is seen sitting beside Brienne (Gwendoline Christie). Both of them seem to be eagerly listening to someone, in all probability Jon Snow, explaining them his war strategy to take back Winterfell.

The Mother of Dragons seems to be back in power with her signature “Queen” hairstyle and full clothes. She seems to be in control of the situation, along with Daario Naharis, after an intermittent break as prisoner. She was captured by the Dothraki tribe but managed to kill the Dothraki leaders and emerge unscathed and in nude from a burning house. Now, with the Dothrakis at her side, where will she take them?

Back in Mereen, Varys and Tyrion are joined by the new Red Priestess (not Melisandre), Kinvara, played by Israeli actress Ania Bukstein. Like Melisandre, she will have her powers and there may be a clash in later episodes between the two followers of the Lord of Light. In one photo, Jon seems pretty serious. Will he listen to Melisandre’s advice like Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) did? Melisandre surely can’t suggest burning a child alive again. Snow will sacrifice himself but not harm a child.

“Knowledge has made you powerful but there is so much you don’t know,” Kinvara tells Tyrion and Varys, proving her knowledge will be more than useful for the two and also Daenerys.
