‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 spoilers: Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons to play a crucial role in upcoming season

While Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen in “Game of Thrones,” revealed that the show “legitimately almost killed” them. Her onscreen Khaleesi avatar may also take a blow in the upcoming Season 6.

[Spoiler Alert] HBO released three teasers in January showing the shredded banners of the “Game of Thrones” Houses. One of the clips had a voiceover of a Dothraki and was named “Queen of Nothing.”

“You are nobody. The millionth of your name. Queen of Nothing,” says the Dothraki voice.

The voice declares Daenerys “Khaleesi vosi,” which means “Queen of Nothing.” This teaser is also in line with fate of Daenerys in “Game of Thrones” Season 5. She was last seen surrounded by a Dothraki tribe, which definitely doesn’t have “good wishes” for her.

She had opened the fighting pits of Mereen and was sitting in the royal box at the Daznak's Pit along with Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel), Hizdahr zo Loraq (Joel Fry) and Daario Naharis (Michiel Huisman). Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) was the last man standing.

Soon they were attacked by Sons of the Harpy. Everything was lost till the moment Daenerys’ dragon Drogon appeared and took her away to an unknown hilltop amidst a sea of green grass. Daenerys wandered away to find food and a route that would take her back to Mereen. However, three Dothraki bloodriders emerged. Within minutes, an entire Khalasar surrounded her.

Knowing, she would be taken prisoner, Daenerys removed her ring and dropped it on the grass simply to leave a trail. Drogon was wounded and uninterested in flying back.

Thus, it is absolutely clear that Daenerys’ fate is hanging in the balance. She is not safe back in Mereen, and now, she will probably be taken prisoner by the Dothraki. They are a hostile tribe who can never accept a woman as their leader.

What will be interesting to see in “Game of Thrones” Season 6 is whether Daenerys will be successful in convincing the Khalasar to follow her, join the Unsullied and cross the narrow sea to take the Iron Throne.

Moreover, fans will be seeing considerably bigger dragons in Season 6 as revealed by the show's VFX supervisor Joe Bauer.

“The dragons will again be double in size. When the dragons were small, we had little foam rubber models of each dragon and we could carry them on and off of the set and it was no big deal. Last year, the best we could do was a head and this year it’s going to be a finger nail or something, I’m not really sure,” Bauer told Yahoo.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO in the US on April 24.
