“Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 2 (“Home”) sends a number of characters back home albeit the word has different meanings for each of them. Emilia Clarke is not in the episode as the Mother of Dragons, but someone is making sure that two-thirds of her babies are receiving proper care. Meanwhile, a big fan speculation about Kit Harington’s Jon Snow has been proved to be accurate.

Spoiler alert: This review recaps some of the highlights of “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 2 with major spoilers included. Here is a look back into what happens to Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Moro in GOT 6x01.

Perhaps it makes sense for Daenerys to miss GOT 6 Episode 2, since she is still far from home. Other characters, however, are making significant steps forward in their journey back home, i.e. Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), thanks to Lady Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and Podrick (Daniel Portman).

GOT 6 Episode 2: Bran Stark is ‘home’ with Aunt Lyanna in his vision

Even Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) somehow made it home by travelling through the ocean of time in his vision. Fans missed out on Bran’s journeys throughout the fifth season, but GOT 6 made up for it by showing how deep Bran could swim into the past. At one point, Bran sees his Aunt Lyanna Stark, who is incidentally believed to be the mystery mother of Jon Snow.

That Lyanna Stark is somehow present in the opening scene of “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 2 is significant for GOT and ASOIAF fans who believe in the R+L=J theory. It is noteworthy because by the end of the episode, Jon Snow comes back to life, thanks to the Red Woman a.k.a. Melisandre (Carice va Houten).

GOT 6 Episode 2: Hope is alive for the R + L = J Theory

Proponents of the R+L=J theory have one extra page in their book of supposed clues, thanks to the events in GOT 6x2. Are HBO developers Dan Weiss and David Benioff really going to reveal that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark? Things could develop very differently in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song Of Ice And Fire” book series, though. (See UnleashedReality for a story on Martin’s Twitter post about this theory.)

Meanwhile, another fan favourite character seems to have established some kinship with the dragons.

GOT 6 Episode 2: Tryion Lannister meets, befriends 2 of the 3 dragons

Tryion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), also believed to be another unwitting Targaryen and a future dragon rider, manages to unchain Rhaegal and Viserion, two of Dany’s dragons. Many fans believe that both Tyrion and Jon would join Dany in riding the three dragons (with Dany riding Drogon) in the ultimate battle against the White Walkers. Tryion discussing his knowledge about dragons in GOT 6x2 is a treat for fans who believe it is his destiny to go to war with one of them.

Tyrion may be far from home in Meereen. He never belonged anywhere, however, until he got really close to dragons in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 2. He even tells the dragons a story from his childhood, that he has always wanted to have one, even just a “little” one, like him.

Kit Harington: ‘I’m sorry. I just want you to care.’

As for Jon Snow, Kit Harington has already apologised for insisting in interviews that the much speculated Jon Snow resurrection was not going to happen. To sum up, the actor just wants the fans to care enough.

“I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone,” Harington told Entertainment Weekly. “I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care.” Fans who held on tight to their belief that Jon would come back to life were all vindicated now, thanks to the final moments of “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 2.

Indeed, Jon Snow is back home at Castle Black. It is still his home, but not for long. Melisandre shares with Ser Davos (Liam Cunningham) in Episode 1 that Jon is fighting at North in her vision. Will this vision come true and strengthen the Red Woman’s (dark) faith again?

Arya is on her way back to ‘home’ at House of Black and White

Also coming back home (presumably to the House of Black and White) is Arya Stark (Maisie Williams). She becomes a beggar for a total of two episodes in GOT 6. Jaqen H'ghar a.k.a. The Faceless Man (Tom Wlaschiha) is alive and well, and he has more plans for the girl.

Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) and Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton) are the casualties in GOT 6x2. Both died in their respective home and in the hands of their own blood.

What happens next in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 3? Fans can expect more Bran Stark and his visions, as things are about to pick up speed from this point.
