In a shocking twist that deviates from the books, episode 5 of the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" ended with Jorah Mormot contracting Grayscale. Actor Iain Glen, who plays Mormont, sounded off his thoughts about the illness and the fate of his character for the rest of season 5. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]

Despite having survived an attack by stonemen, episode 5 ended with the revelation that Jorah contracted the deadly disease that turns victims' skin into stone. Iain Glen sat down with Entertainment Weekly and said that despite the illness, he doesn't think that it's a certain death sentence for his character.

On the way back to Daenerys Targaryen in Meereen, Jorah and Tyrion sailed through the ruins of the ancient city of Valyria where they were attacked by a group of stonemen. An intense battle followed where both Jorah and Tyrion barely escaped with their lives. However, Jorah was infected with the contagious disease.

Glen explains that in the story, people have died from Grayscale while others have survived. One notable survivor is Princess Sheereen Baratheon who had a lengthy discussion with her father about the disease in an earlier episode.

Apart from his Greyscale problem, Ser Jorah Mormont has been exiled and is currently finding his way back to Daenerys Targaryen. He has taken Tyrion Lannister hostage and plans to present him to Daenerys as an apology and proof of his allegiance.

Glen explains that he's enjoying his character's journey this season after being separated from Daenerys. "It's a very different journey this year to being constantly attached to Daenerys -- which I've loved, but I'm enjoying the freedom of playing different scenes away from her as I'm working my way back toward her," he said.

Apart from the separation from Daenerys, Glen also talks about a big fight scene that his character will engage in. He says that he has had some fight scenes in the past but the one that is coming up later this season is the most substantial.

Ser Jorah and Tyrion will be encountering some slavers on their way back to Daenerys in the upcoming episode. Will this be a premise for the big fight scene? Or perhaps the battle will involve the dragons? Find out when "Game of Thrones " returns on Sunday at 9 pm on HBO.
