The exotic kingdom ruled by House Martell, Dorne is the home of the late Prince Oberyn Martell or better known as the Red Viper who was killed during the epic duel between The Mountain. One of the nine regions of the Seven Kingdoms, Dorne is the only part of the Westeros that was not conquered by Aegon's dragons.

While the rest of the kingdom of Westeros is fighting for the Iron Throne, the land known for its wine and women is keeping its close friendship with King's Landing. The same reason that they took in Princess Myrcella when Tyrion Lannister sent her during Stannis' attack in the capital, the "Battle of the Blackwater."

Scheduled to be filmed in Spain, "Game of Thrones" season 5 will cover most of George R.R. Martin's "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance With Dragons." Dorne is the only warm land away from the freezing north and the impending attack of the White Walkers in The Wall.

Fans of the show are going to experience more flavours for the coming season as Dorne is set to offer a "Euro-Mediterranean/North African vibe." "Game of Thrones" Season 5 is going to feature a wide variety of colourful costumes, mysterious characters, old palaces and water gardens.

Here are the five awesome things about Dorne taken from "Game of Thrones" Wiki.

1. Sunspear is the capital of the Dornish land and the only kingdom in Westeros who managed to retain its independence. Through a peaceful marriage alliance, Dorne was allowed to continue most of their customs and laws, specially their strong sense of "national identity."

2. Sand is the name given to the bastards of Dorne, just like the name Snow in the bastards of Winterfell. Now that he is dead, Oberyn Martell's bastard daughters the Sand Snakes will soon appear in HBO's GOT season 5. These women are as deadly and clever as their father and they are up for an explosive season to avenge the Red Viper.

3. Dorne is the only desert in the entire Seven Kingdoms with the smallest overall population. Its wine is the most expensive and the only place where citrus grows in its fertile lands along the river.

4. To fight against Aegon's dragons, the Dornish men used a "guerrilla warfare tactics" by targeting the conqueror's flanks and supply lines. Because of their clever ways of battle, Aegon was forced to leave the kingdom with its defeat.

5. Dornish men and women are known for being passionate and fiery people, they are the most chill people with more relaxed views when it comes to sex.
