Samsung is set to launch a larger Windows phone for the U.S. market. The report was based from the documents sent to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) for certification. According to the report, this reported Samsung Windows phone will be the Samsung SM-W750 with 5-inch display and 1080 x 1920 resolution.

The display specs of this Samsung Windows phone will be similar to the Galaxy S4's 5 inches screen, according to Phone Arena.

The screen resolution itself will make the Samsung-manufactured Windows phone competitive with the recent smartphones from Nokia, including the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520 and the 5-inch Lumia 1320. If the rumors are accurate, this Samsung Windows phone will be the first high-end device from Samsung to launch since the ATIV S and ATIV S Neo. Given that the Samsung SM-W750V is a Windows phone, it be released and branded under the ATIV umbrella.

It is still unclear what networks the Samsung Windows phone will debut but the device will launch the LTE connectivity. In the U.S., AT&T has been the carrier supporting Microsoft mobile OS with some Windows phones offered under its network.

It will be interesting to look forward to see what processor will run the device as Windows phones have been limited with Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon processor until the Nokia Lumia 1520. Essentially, the Samsung SM-W750V needs to be on quad-core processing power to be competitive with the Lumia flagship and the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3.

At this point, it is still unclear when the device will hit the shelves but one potential launch date will be at the Mobile World Congress next month.

The overall design of the Samsung Windows phone is still unknown but it is likely that Samsung will base the SM-W750V on the aesthetics of the recent Android releases, which include the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. The ATIV S was based on the design of the Galaxy S3 in the past so it will not be surprising to see the SM W7-W750V sporting the same look as the existing Samsung Galaxy Android devices.
