Samsung is yet to confirm the actual Galaxy Note Edge release date but the South Korean tech giant is already touting the device as worthy adversary for Apple's first phablet offering - the iPhone 6 Plus.

Besides the Note Edge's killer specs and features - bannered by the cutting edge form-factor of the front panel display that is curved on the right side plus the superior components housed inside its beautifully crafted - the Galaxy maker highlighted five of the edgy features that make the device a cut above the rest.

Samsung is quite convinced that the five Edge Screen features, courtesy of Samsung Tomorrow, below will allow the Galaxy Note Edge edge out the iPhone 6 Plus:

Quick access to important tools

The Note's Edge Screen serves as shortcut holder for handset tools that users would want to immediately call upon when needed. The handy choices include a ruler, a timer, a stopwatch, a torch or flashlight and a voice recorder.

...and applications too

The Edge Screen can also be configured so users can tap into their most frequently used applications. It could be the messaging or email or the Internet browser or the latest gaming title - the Note Edge is ready to launch in a swift stroke of a finger.

Multitasking on the go with no interruption

One feature that the Note Edge unabashedly underscores is its unique multitasking ability. Users can surf the Net or playback a movie and get to an incoming message minus the interruption. The Edge Screen will flash the streaming words while the action below the main panel continues.

Real-time inflow of news feeds and social media updates

The Note Edge is designed for uninterrupted connection with the world. Users can set the Edge Screen to receive and display the latest updates or scores on their favourite sports match in the same way that they can also access the latest news developments or happenings on their social media circles.

Own the Note Edge

The Galaxy Note Edge is all set to adapt into the personality of its users as the Edge Screen can be tweaked to reflect the distinctive character of its owner. Customizing the Edge Screen is a breeze with the S Pen that makes it easy to add text, drawings and even images on the Note Edge's second screen.

The Galaxy Note Edge release date is question that remains to be answered by Samsung though the wait shouldn't be too long as its chief rival, the iPhone 6 Plus, is already out.
