Vin Diesel wants Helen Mirren to star in the upcoming instalment of “Fast & Furious,” "Furious 8.” The actor revealed his wish about the actress’ appearance in his recent interview.

“I love Helen Mirren. Get your act together, Helen. Of course I would! Who wouldn't? It’s Helen,” he said to Access Hollywood. Mirren had expressed her wish to star in the film in March. She said to Yahoo that it is her “great mission” to star as a "mad driver” in the “Fast & Furious” film. She had also added that she loves Vin Diesel and it is also because of the actor that she will love to star in “Furious 8.”

Though it is not known if Mirren will be a part of “Furious 8,” Diesel is set to reprise his role has Dominic Toretto. The actor also shared the excitement related to film. He said that he has never seen a city so thrilled and committed to the sequel.

The film will be reportedly set in New York and Kurt Russell who starred, as Mr. Nobody will play a significant part. “We really hired him (Russell) because of a story that follows this that takes place in New York,” Diesel said during Jimmy Kimmel Live. In “Furious 7,” Russell's character helps Toretto in stopping Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) in exchange for safeguarding a computer program called the God’s Eye. Other actors who are confirmed for the role include Dwayne Johnson as Hobbs and Statham as Shaw.

“Furious 8” is currently in pre-production. Details about the director and other star cast are unknown. The film has been scheduled to be released on Apr. 14, 2015

“Furious 7” was a major box office success. It made $1.7 billion worldwide. It is the highest grossing film in the franchise and starred Late actor Paul Walker. It was the last time Walker was seen on the screen. The actor who played Brian O’Connor passed away in 2013 in a tragic car accident. His brothers Cody and Caleb Walker shot his remaining part in the film. The film was released on Apr 14 and was directed by James Wan.
