“Furious 8” star Jason Statham has expressed his interest in doing another project with Sylvester Stallone. The two co-starred in the three instalments of the film franchise “The Expendables” in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

“Working with Sylvester Stallone is beyond a pinch yourself moment,” Statham said in an interview with IGN . The British actor added that he is willing to do as many action films as Stallone wants.

Describing himself as a man who loves action films, Statham said it is a privilege to be directed by Stallone, to be in a movie he has produced and to be shoulder to shoulder with him. He added that he grew up watching the Oscar-nominated actor’s films.

Along with Statham and Stallone, “The Expendables 3” also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Antonio Banderas and Dolph Lundgren, among others. Shortly after the film sequel, Stallone starred in John Herzfeld’s “Reach Me.”

Stallone has yet to confirm the release date and the cast of “The Expendables 4” as he is set to reprise his role as Rocky Balboa in “Creed.” On the other hand, Statham is also set to reprise his role as Deckard Shaw in another film sequel “Furious 8.”

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, “Fast and the Furious” franchise producer Neal G. Moritz talked about how the creative team will approach “Furious 8.” It will be the first instalment without the late Paul Walker, who died of a car accident on Nov. 20, 2013.

According to Moritz, one of the things that have made “Fast and the Furious” special is its “incredible action” but what the fans relate to the most is the action films’ characters. He said they are trying to come at it from a character viewpoint and figure out where the characters would lead.

Only Statham, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson have been confirmed to star in “Furious 8,” which is slated for an April 14, 2017 releaser. Other “Furious 7” cast members, including Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and “Game of Thrones” actress Nathalie Emmanuel, still have not confirmed if they will join the cast of the upcoming film sequel.
