Skylanders Superchargers iOS bundle

“Skylanders Superchargers” will be coming to a range of iOS devices on Oct. 25. Much like last year’s impressive “Skylanders Trap Team,” this will be the full game experience and will come with an iCloud save feature so players can switch between their iOS devices.

Like the console versions of the game, a starter pack bundle will be available for pre-order, as reported by Polygon, and will come with a Bluetooth controller, two figures and a vehicle. It’s rare that a mobile port of a video game will be getting a bundle similar to its console counterpart, but it seems like publisher Activision wants to show that the iOS version will be just as good as the console edition.

Once players download the “Skylanders Superchargers” app, they will gain immediate access to two characters: Instant Spit Fire and Instant Hot Streak. More characters like Dive Bomber, Super Shot Stealth Elf and Dive-Clops also have “Instant” versions and can be unlocked through in-app purchases. For those unaware, “Instant” characters allow mobile users to play the game without having to buy any of the figurines, according to Game Informer.

This will be the full experience coming to iOS, so mobile gamers with tablets will also be able to participate in online co-op and multiplayer races. However, those who will be playing the game on their smartphones will only have access to the offline content of the game, like the adventure mode and local co-op.

Oddly enough, it appears that “Skylanders Superchargers” won’t be coming to Android devices. The move is a bit confusing since the aforementioned “Skylanders Trap Team” was available for both iOS and Android devices. There’s a possibility that an Android version will come sometime after the iOS version, but Activision hasn’t commented on the matter.

Mobile gamers will also be getting “Skylanders Superchargers” next month, while those with consoles will be getting it later this month, on Sept. 20. The figures support all versions of the “Superchargers” and can be purchased in retail stores where they sell the game. Fans can expect more figures for the game to come out during the holiday season.
