“Frozen 2,” the sequel to the highly successful 2013 animation film, will be adding new characters. New cast members are joining the film, as the project gets one step closer to the start of production.

According to a report by Variety, actors Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown are currently in talks to lend their voices to new characters for the upcoming film. Details about what new characters are being introduced hasn’t been revealed yet, and the plot of the film is also currently under wraps.

Wood is not a stranger to animation films. She previously leant her voice to the character Marianne in the film “Strange Magic.” She is more famous for her role in the hit TV series “Westworld.”

Brown on the other hand has been a part of many TV series, including the “Robot Chicken” series. He will also be lending his voice to the coming animation film “The Angry Birds Movie 2.” The other big upcoming movie that he is a part of is “The Predator.”

The confirmed cast members of “Frozen 2” are Kristen Bell (Voice of Anna), Idina Menzel (Voice of Elsa), and Josh Gad (Voice of Olaf). Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will also be back as directors.

There will be huge pressure on the cast and crew to deliver another big hit after the massive success of the first movie. The 2013 flick managed to generate over a billion dollars in revenues in the worldwide box office, and opened the doors for additional revenue streams through merchandising. The film won the Academy Award for the best animation movie in 2014.

“Frozen 2” is set to be released on Nov. 27, 2019 in the US and on Dec. 26, 2019 in Australia. More details about the new characters, casting, and the plot are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
