Foxtel network has apologised to Australia's Next Top Model host Sarah Murdoch saying it was a miscommunication that caused her to announce the wrong winner last week.

"We have confirmed that the fault was a human communications error to the host Sarah Murdoch and that an assumption had been made by the producer which has now shown to be incorrect," said Foxtel director of TV Brian Walsh, according to Hollywood.com.

Walsh insisted that Murdoch was not at fault and neither was the boo-boo a publicity stunt.

"Nothing could be further from the truth and we apologise to Sarah for any embarrassment it and the subsequent publicity has caused her," Walsh added.

Murdoch announced Kelsey Martinovich as the finals winner on Sept. 27. Reports said that as she was making her acceptance speech, producers sent Murdoch the card bearing the real winner and the host was forced to interrupt Martinovich and announce Amanda Ware as the winner.

Murdoch was apologetic but Martinovich coolly accepted the verdict, congratulated Ware with a hug and dismissed Murdoch's apology.

Martinovich, nevertheless, took home $25,000 in consolation prize, an all-expenses paid trip to New York and a share of the Harper Bazaar's cover with Ware.
