Young people, especially women, should not vote, according to Fox News. They do not have the kind of life experiences that older women have.

Women should concentrate on Tinder and Match.com, according to "The Five" co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle on Tuesday. It is also the reason why juries should not have young women, as "they don't get it" he said.

Earlier, co-host Greg Gutfeld pointed out that age brings wisdom as well as conservatism. Guilfoyle agreed with him, and even added that you cannot cast a vote that is informed enough, until you've undergone adult activities, such as "paying the bills," according to mediaite.com. He pointed out that young women are "healthy and hot" and just chase the world around "without a care in the world." Earlier in October, in another episode, co-host Harris Faulkner had said that the youth should refrain from voting if they "don't know the issues."

Critics of the astounding idea did seem to know a number of issues on the subject. Says Catherine Taibi from The Huffington Post, that it is a "terrible" and "illogical" thing to ask the youth to refrain from voting. However, driving young women away would be more "damaging and regressive."

Most of the opinions were inaccurate and wrong if you go by statistics, according to salon.com. After all, a project on Student Debt showed that seven in 10 college graduates take an average of $29,400 in student loans that point to all the "bills" of each month. There is another 34.5 percent of female high school graduates who may drop out of college, but join the labor force, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Crime rates also show that one in five women is sexually assaulted at some time. For 37.4 percent of those women, the first assault is between 18 and 24 year, according to CDC. Hence, even if they are "healthy and hot" it is not clear whether they will be free of care, or not know any of the issues.

Fox News had telecast another programme opining that the youth should not vote. However, this is puzzling, because anyway not too many votes. According to an earlier Huffington Post article, it was found that less than 25 percent of voters aged 18 to 29 cast their votes. For the November elections, the forecast is worse, as 23 percent are expected to vote.

However, it can be damaging if millennials do not vote, as they are actually "more engaged and knowledgeable" about various issues than generations that preceded them. Their vote can be powerful. In the 2012 election, youth voters had helped Obama to win in Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Hence, without their deciding vote, Obama may have lost. The critics conclude that as young voters tend to lean towards Democrats, Fox News is trying to find a way of preventing them from voting.
