The "Foo Fighters" is back with a new album after an almost two-year hiatus. Producer Butch Vig and the band's frontman Dave Grohl give clues on what to expect in their upcoming album.

After the Foo's "Wasting Light" album tours in 2012, Dave Grohl announced that the band will be taking a break. But Dave Grohl gave fans a reason to celebrate as he stated in January 2013 that the band started writing material for an eight album. More interviews and news about the making of the album sprung in 2013.

As if missing the good old days, the Foo Fighters quickly returned to action, performing live shows here and there at the end of 2013. On January 2014, the Foo Fighters posted in its official Facebook page a picture of master tapes for their new album, thus confirming the anticipated news.

Adding to the fans excitement, producer Butch Vig said that Foo's new album titled is "almost halfway done," reported Jon Blistein from Rolling Stone.
Vig added in a radio interview with KROQ, "I'm hoping to finish the Foos by the end of June and probably go back into the studio and finish the Garbage album by Thanksgiving. It's our 20th anniversary. So, there'll be a big tour and a new album and some other special things that we're working on to sort of celebrate our anniversary."

Dave Grohl is just as stoked to share with everyone his thoughts about the new album they're working on. Dave described the new album as "Badass. We're doing something that nobody knows about, it's f***ing rad. We begin recording soon, but we're doing it in a way that no one's done before and we're writing the album in a way that I don't think has been done before," reported by Rolling Stone.

Butch Vig concluded that the new album has lots of new elements to play with. During the process, everyone involved in the recording had to be wild but at the same time still bring the band's genuine style. Even though the process of making the album sounded challenging, Dave Grohl and the others still managed to have fun. Photos from the Foo's studio recording can be seen from SPIN's recent post.
