Samsung is speculated to launch five flagship smartphones in 2017. It includes Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Edge, Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy Note 7 Edge and a new flagship smartphone called Galaxy X.

According to Sam Mobile, the Galaxy X will be a foldable smartphone and it will be housing a 4K resolution display. In the previous year, rumours about Project Valley, a bendable Samsung smartphone had surfaced. Recent reports indicate that the South Korean tech giant may launch the smartphone as Galaxy X in 2017.

In the first half of 2017, Samsung is speculated to announce Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge. And in the second half of next year, it is expected to announce three flagships, Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy Note 7 Edge and Galaxy X.

Apart from Galaxy X, all the other Samsung flagships of 2017 will be arriving with Quad HD screens with RGB subpixels arrangement. However, the 4K display of Galaxy X will be equipped with PenTile subpixel arrangement.

Smartphones with 5.5-inch or higher screens are not pocket-friendly devices. The Galaxy X with its bendable screen will allow users to fold the device to easily place it inside the pocket. As of this writing, there is no information available on the specifications and features of Galaxy X.

Samsung is now rumored to be building Galaxy Note 6 and Galaxy Note 6 Lite smartphones. Both the smartphones are expected to feature 5.8-inch Quad HD screens. The Galaxy Note 6 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 823 chipset and 6 GB of RAM whereas its Lite edition will be fueled by Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4 GB of RAM.

Both the devices will be coming with Android N OS. Also, the Note 6 and Note 6 Lite will be the first smartphones from the company to feature USB Type-C ports.
