Flume and Tame Impala gather the most number of trophies in the recently-concluded Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards held at The Star's Event Centre in Sydney.

The Sydney-born electronic musician picks out four wins out of eight nominationsrom ARIA for his self-titled album, including Best Male Artist, Breakthrough Artist, Dance Album of the Year and Producer of the Year.

During the press conference after the awards night, Flume -- whose real name is Harley Streten -- remains humble despite his big win. However, he feels the weight of expectations for his next album after receiving four awards from ARIA.

"I don't wanna be that [insincere] guy 'yeah I'm just so happy to be nominated for an award, but I actually am! I didn't feel the weight tonight, but I do feel the weight for the next album, for sure," he says.

When asked about what's next for the 22-year-old artist, he says, "I've been constantly on tour for about a year and it's been amazing, but looking very forward to getting home and just writing some new music really. I've just got a [new] studio in Sydney so it's going to be good. But it is going to be weird because it's always been a hobby of mine and now there's expectation."

Meanwhile, rock trio Tame Impala gets three awards from ARIA, including Best Group, Best Rock Album and Album of the Year for Lonerism.

Fairfax Media have noticed the group's awkward acceptance speeches throughout the event, the most notable of which was that from Jay Watson, who thanks 'all the people who do the stuff that's not creative' as they accept the best group award.

Kevin Parker, on the other hand, thanks his 'band of idiots' as the group receives the Best Rock Album award.

Other big winners of the night were Guy Sebastian and the band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, who got two awards each. The former got the Best Pop Release and Best Australian Live Act awards, while the latter got the Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album.
