Floyd Mayweather Sr. talks about a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight as if a victory against Maidana next month is already a given.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is set to fight Marcos Maidana on Sept. 13 while Manny Pacquiao is about to face Chris Algieri on Nov. 22. Although both fights are must-see events, neither have the appeal like the much anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight.

Mayweather and Pacquiao have never crossed paths inside the boxing ring because of constant disagreements between the two parties halting the fight between the two.

However, Floyd Mayweather Sr. appears to be dropping hints of the possibility of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight. Although the Mayweather team has already scheduled a rematch against Maidana of Argentina on September 13, his next fight schedule on May is up for grabs and Mayweather Sr. suggests a bout with Pacquiao.

Floyd Sr. made a remark about fighting Pacquiao according to an unnamed source by Boxing Insider. The source was not sure that Floyd Sr. wants his comments repeated so he asked Boxing Insider to keep him anonymous. According to the source, who was not sure if who has known Floyd Sr. for many years, the older Mayweather wants the fight to cement his son's boxing legacy that would bring him the biggest haul in boxing history. However, the source was not sure if the entire team was in agreement on a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight.

A fight between the two best boxers of our time would benefit them both and especially their unwavering fans. Financial interests might finally fuel the much anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight as Pay per View figures have been dipping as Mayweather and Pacquiao have scoured the welterweight class for valuable opponents.
