Floyd Mayweather Sr. has recently shared his thoughts on Manny Pacquiao's upcoming fight with another undefeated American boxer Chris Algieri. The 61-year-old boxing trainer exclusively spoke with Fight Hype's Ben Thompson and he has some things to say about the Filipino eight-division world champion.

Floyd Sr. has said that Pacquiao shouldn't feel too self-satisfied about Algieri. He admitted that he has no idea who Algieri is, but has heard so much about him. He said he has been told that Algieri is a "tough guy," so if Pacquiao becomes complacent, the Filipino fighter would definitely get knocked out.

Floyd Sr. further said that Pacquiao isn't really the best defensive fighter in the sport compared with his son. "Pacquiao is not a defensive genius, he's not that," the elder Mayweather told Fight Hype. "Floyd is that, that's what Pacquaio don't have, he can't fight the way he used to fight," he added. He said that it has been a long time since Pacquaio has knocked someone out.

Bleacher Report, BR, ranked Floyd Jr. fourth in its list of greatest defensive fighters of all time. Floyd Sr. isn't only a defensive fighter but also a great counterpuncher, according to BR. Floyd Jr.'s fights against other great offensive fighters have showcased how amazing his defense strategies were.

Meanwhile, Floyd Sr. said that the super fight between his son and Pacquiao will take place at some point in the coming years. In another interview with Fight Hype's Ben Thompson, Floyd Sr. made it clear that his son never really told him that the fight with Pacquaio is going to happen. However, Floyd Sr. strongly believes that his son would end up fighting Pacquiao, before Floyd Jr.'s contract with Showtime expires.

Floyd Jr. is 47-0 in his career. He has two more fights remaining with Showtime. "Well, it might be number 49," the 61-year-old boxing trainer said.

Pacquiao is 56-5-2 in his career. Both Pacquiao and Floyd Jr. have won a variety of championship belts in different weight divisions in boxing. If the super fight between the two finally happen, it would be a dream come true for all boxing enthusiasts. The fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Jr. started making headlines in 2009. However, it never really materialized due to a number of issues including purse splits and drug testing.
