Entertainment Weekly talked with executive producer Andrew Kreisberg who revealed that Tom Felton “is portraying a character on our show, he is not portraying Tom Felton.” He also revealed that Cisco will continue making pop culture cross references and that they are not afraid to have a little bit of a meta-moment.

Even Felton himself hopes that his character would be the first to crack a Harry Potter joke in the third season of “The Flash,” He reveals that he is very excited for the references and that he has no doubts for the talent and creativity of the writers of the show. Although he says that it would be expected from Cisco since he is known for making such pop culture references, he hopes that Cisco would misquote something and that he corrects him.

Although Felton will not be seen in the season premiere episode, executive producer Todd Helbing has teased that he will act as a rival for Barry Allen for this season. He adds that he is a direct result of Flashpoint and while Barry had the lab for himself, he has to share it with this character who he does not like very much.

We Got This Covered also says that Felton’s character, Julian Dorn, will be Barry’s new workplace rival. Very little is known about the character now, but it has been previously revealed that he and Barry do not like each other and that there is more to him than what appears. Some fans already suspect that he will later end up being revealed as a new villain, Dr. Alchemy, but that remains to be seen for now.

The third season of “The Flash” will premiere on Tuesday October 4, 2016 on the CW.
