“The Flash” Season 3, Episode 20 (“I Know Who You Are”) aired May 2 on The CW. This week’s new episode finally reveals the identity of Savitar. Fans who thought it was Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond got it wrong. Apparently, Caitlin Snow aka Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) teamed up with Savitar out of trust, not romantic history.

Spoiler alert: This article recaps the highlights of “I Know Who You Are,” with speculations on Savitar’s beginnings and intentions.

In the previous episode of “The Flash,” some fans thought that Killer Frost’s reaction to Savitar’s identity was a clue. They thought the only reason she would work with him was that it was Caitlin’s beloved Ronnie Raymond. By the end of the latest episode, however, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) figures out that Savitar is a version of himself. Indeed, Savitar is Barry Allen.

The big reveal did not come as a surprise to some fans, who already saw it coming. After all, at the beginning of each episode, Barry Allen would remind the audience that he is, in fact, the fastest man alive. Now, there are various speculations and theories on how Barry Allen became Savitar. Why would Savitar kill Iris West (Candice Patton)?

In a preview clip for the May 9 episode, Wally West aka Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) says Savitar is “a version of Barry from the future.” Fans on forum sites are guessing that Savitar is actually Flashpoint Barry, a result of the speedster’s timeline mess. Other fans are convinced that the real reason for Savitar’s existence has not yet happened in the present timeline.

Anne Dudek guest stars in this week’s episode as Tracy Brand, the key for Team Flash to beat Savitar. Barry learns about Dr Brand in the previous episode, where he talks to a grieving version of himself. Future Barry, who is still mourning Iris’ demise, says Brand was not able to finish the tech before Iris was killed.

Back to the present timeline, Killer Frost hunts Brand down, determined to kill her, as Savitar ordered. Her fight against Barry Allen heats up this week. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) is afraid he might accidentally kill their friend, but he overcomes his fears, eventually.

Acting as cheerleader, HR Wells (Tom Cavanagh) tries to boost Brand’s self-confidence in order to advance her lab work.

Meanwhile, Killer Frost also attacks Cecille (Danielle Nicolet) to trade her for Brand. This happens soon after Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) decided he should stop dating Cecille. Things get sorted out, eventually, and now the two of them are officially a couple.

In the next episode, everyone gathers at S.T.A.R. Labs to reset the Barry Allen and fix his memories so that Savitar would not be able to anticipate his next move. The third season finale is fast approaching, so this is a good time for fans to catch up.

This week’s “The Flash” Season 3 episode was directed by Hanelle Culpepper and written by Bronwen Clark & Joshua V. Gilbert. Below are some clips from Episode 20. In Australia, viewers can watch Barry Allen and team on FOX8.
