OnePlus One
The OnePlus One smartphone OnePlus

Even if OnePlus conducted an AMA (ask me anything) session early this month, some additional information about its upcoming OnePlus 2 is still being leaked before its official launch, which is scheduled on July 27. As per the latest leaked images, OnePlus 2 will retain the same body design from its predecessor, OnePlus One but the internals are expected to get a major upgrade.

On July 22, Engadget got its hands on some of the latest images of OnePlus 2 on China’s Tenaa site, which is the country’s equivalent of the U.S. FCC that tests devices for wireless regulatory compliance. As per the publication, the much expected fingerprint reader is visible in the OnePlus 2 but the camera setup, which is likely to get laser focusing and not dual cameras, looks unpleasant and is mounted low on the back.

The phone will see bigger upgrades inside as the handset is likely to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip, 4 GB memory, dual-SIM card support, 13 MP camera sensor and a large 3300 mAh battery, reports ZDNet. Very recently, some unconfirmed reports had surfaced online suggesting that OnePlus 2 will be smaller than OnePlusOne, which features a 5.5-inch display and measures 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9 mm.

However, OnePlus 2 will just be moderately smaller than its predecessor and the upcoming smartphone is likely to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p panel, reports Phonearena.com. As per the publication, in the U.S. market, OnePlus 2 will be available with LTE bands 1 / 2 / 4 / 5 / 7 / 8 / 12 / 17 and for the Europe and rest of the markets, the smartphone will be available with LTE bands 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 8 / 20. Some of the other confirmed features include a fingerprint scanner, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM and a USB Type-C connector.

OnePlus had also said earlier that its Europe/Asia, North America and China versions will get better cellular band support and has apparently denied any possibility of getting a wireless charging support, as per a report on 9 to 5 Google. As far as pricing is concerned, will not be cheaper than OnePlus One but will be less expensive compared to other Android flagship phones. It is expected to get a price tag under $450, as per the ZDNet report.
