Fans everywhere were shocked when Ubisoft announced “Far Cry Primal” as the next game in the hit series, thanks to the dramatic new setting and theme. Those curious about how the gameplay will be won’t have to wait much longer, as a Tweet from Geoff Keighley revealed that an exclusive gameplay video would be shown in this year’s Game Awards.

This will be the first gameplay video of “Far Cry Primal” shown to the public, as previous videos of the game were merely trailers that didn’t show too much, aside from the prehistoric premise. Either way, it should be a big night for “Far Cry” fans and gamers in general since they’ll get to see which of their favorite games bring home the bacon.

Announced back in October, “Far Cry Primal” will be the fifth installment in the acclaimed game series from Ubisoft. Players will be Takkar, the last surviving member of his hunting group in 10,000 BC, who must survive a harsh environment that have Sabretooth Tigers and other tribesmen trying to kill him.

Interestingly enough, Ubisoft has described the game as a “full single-player experience in 10,000 BC.” Previous games have had multiplayer modes, but they were never the main focus of the game, so it will be interesting to see if this game is exclusively single-player.

“Far Cry Primal” won’t be the only exclusive that will be shown in the Game Awards, though, as GameSpot stated that there would be 10 major game announcements during the show. What these video game related announcements have yet to be revealed, but Keighley promised that they would be big.

These can be anything, from gameplay videos to full-fledged announcements for new titles, so it looks like a fairly exciting night for video game fans.

The 2015 Game Awards will take place next week on Dec. 3, with “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” from CD Projekt Red dominating the award nominations. “Fallout 4” will also be a contender and it should be interesting to see which of these two open-world games gets crowned “Game of the Year.”

As of this writing, there is no official release date for “Far Cry Primal.” It’s possible that the game will come late next year, but fans will have to wait and see.
