2016 looks like a great year in gaming as there are several promising titles in store for today’s consoles. Aside from the new titles hitting shelves this month, the year also sees to bringing back some popular franchises with new games. One of these games is the much-anticipated “Final Fantasy XV.”

After the long holiday break, some video game developers in Japan are once again working on their lineups for 2016. One of these developers is Square Enix and the team behind “Final Fantasy XV” recently updated fans with the progress of the game through an image that shows off the development process.

The work in progress image was tweeted by the official account of Square Enix Japan. It shows off what looks like a barely rendered screenshot for “Final Fantasy XV.” The image itself contains models of the main characters in the upcoming title. Aside from that, the developer notes that it will keep fans updated with the progress of the game. It also promises to update fans with the development of the game from various angles so they should regularly checkup on the twitter account of Square Enix Japan.

Meanwhile, the director of “Final Fantasy XV,” Hajime Tabata, confirmed recently that the game will indeed launch this year via the official blog of Square Enix. Tabata promises that the team will provide players with an amazing gaming experience when “Final Fantasy XV” launches. No exact release date was provided yet but fans should be on the lookout for updates regarding the release frame.

The announcement was accompanied by an image of some of the main characters in “Final Fantasy XV” as they look in the distance. Tabata also greeted fans a Happy New Year and he acknowledged the downpour of support during the development process of the game.
