The Filipino communities based in US are planning to take their time off on a busy work day schedule to catch the finale of 'American Idol' this year as a rally for one of the Top 2 finalists, Jessica Sanchez.

According to the rally organizer, Rembrandt Sabelis, it can be sad how many talented Asian-Americans are disregarded of what they can offer as talented individuals.

In fact, it is not the first time that someone like Jessica Sanchez have reached close to getting into the finale for this popular reality talent search. However, no matter how close these contestants get to the finish line, almost does not count.

When remembering Fil-Ams who once graced the stage of 'American Idol' as contestant, it would be the girls all the time that you would remember getting in. But one of the many unforgettable ones would be from Jose Penala a.k.a. Sway. He hit the high notes when he sang 'Reasons' by Earth, Wind and Fire.

There was also Sharon Galvez, who is a former member of Ryan Cayabyab's group, 'Smokey Mountain.' She was seen during the fourth season of 'American Idol' and only reached up until the Hollywood rounds. Thia Megia became popular for her cover of 'Out Here On My Own' which will remain to be one of the most sincerest ballads ever heard in the 'Idol' stage.

And who would forget Jasmine Trias who even burst into tears after having received so much criticism from the judges' panel? Despite the pressure, Trias still finished third for that season. Other Fil-Am names which can be remembered include Camille Velasco, Ashley Robles, and Ramiele Malubay amongst many others.

The only question that hangs around at the moment is that will it be different this time? Will Jessica Sanchez be the first to make it on top, especially with the fuller support of other Asian-Americans in the States?

As for a quick look back, check out photos and videos of past Fil-Ams who made a big accomplishment of being a part of such a famous show.
