New York-based company FiftyThree has launched its free Paper app in iPhone. The infamous drawing pad was first built for the iPad via the company’s partnership with Apple in 2012.

The development team announced the launch of the sketching app on its blog post. FiftyThree has built a solid fandom since it was founded back in 2011, primarily for Pencil and Paper apps. The Paper app has been named as iPad’s App of the Year in 2012.

In February, FiftyThree accounted 13 million downloads to date with 5 percept to 10 percent installation frequency when tallied against the number of iPads. After seven more months, Paper gained another two million downloads taking it beyond the 15 million mark, VentureBeat reported.

All of the new features are available on both the iPad and the iPhone, and the existing Paper app is now universal to allow it to work with all of Apple’s mobile devices. The all-new Paper app is recreated from its version, which used to be exclusive for the iPad users. With this improvement, the app can now be utilized even when the user is out and about.

FiftyThree’s Paper app can be used to scribble notes, highlight photos, sketch pictures, and more on any Apple device. It works with either the user’s finger or the company’s stylus accessory, Pencil. The stylus/app combo are designed to duplicate anything you may have traditionally used with a physical pen and paper. On top of the combo, the app also has the “Intention Engine” capability, which anticipates what freehand sketchers are attempting to write. In addition, notes made by users through the app can also be exported to apps like PowerPoint, Keynote, Dropbox or PDF.

The iPhone version of Paper works just like the original iPad app, but it’s designed specifically for the smaller screen. The end result is an amazing digital notebook that works simultaneously as a scrapbook and a canvas. The user You can jot down notes, sketch out ideas, create a digital masterpiece, annotate photos, and make diagrams. In addition, the ideas creates in Paper can be shared instantly with friends via email attachment or a social media post. Paper by Fifty Three can be downloaded from the App Store for free.
