'Fifty Shades' movie folks may have just asked "Arrow" star Stephen Amell to play the Christian Grey role. The actor himself dished the scoop to fans through a video blog on Facebook. If all goes well, this point of view must be one of the things that played out.

Stephen Amell as billionaire superhero Mr Queen and billionaire sex demigod Mr Grey?

Amell plays billionaire superhero Oliver Queen on "Arrow" (The CW). He has earlier expressed interest in playing Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of E.L. James' erotic fiction. Top fan pegs for the role include pop gorgeous actors Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder and Henry Cavill. Arrow is only starting to create waves among fans, who are eagerly promoting the series to friends and family.

In a video he titled "50 Shades of Grey," Amell spoke to fans about the movie, without directly saying whether he has officially signed up for the role. He does, however, make it clear that he is aware of the pre-production progress of the hit erotic series. (Follow this link for a slideshow of Oliver Queen photos.)

"I get questions about Christian Grey all the time," Stephen starts off the clip. "The project (Fifty Shades movie) is a long way off," he continues. In a rather dramatic manner, Steve emphasizes, "I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close." He pauses for suspense. "I wouldn't call it long, but I wouldn't call it close." Stephen ends the 24-sec video at this point.

Do you think Stephen Amell has snagged the hot role of Christian Grey or Elliott Grey in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie? He "had a meeting about it." His fans must have been thrilled by this scoop. (We'll keep you posted.)
