Fifty Shades of Grey movie casting may be wrapping up, but until someone is announced for the Christian Grey role, celeb fans remain hopeful. Matt Bomer, Henry Cavill, and Chace Crawford are three of the most popular bets to dominate Anastasia Steele on film. Does the youngest actor win?

Some critics say Matt Bomer, 35, is too old to play Christian Grey. Henry Cavill, 30, has the age advantage, but only over the thirty-plus. 'Gossip Girl' alum Chace Crawford is age-perfect at 28. Christian Grey is 28 at the start of the series, so the way Chace looks now holds a lot of promise.

There will be at least three 'Fifty Shades' instalments in the next four or five years. It is important for Christian Grey to look convincingly young from the first film.

A couple of weeks ago, news broke that "On the Road" actor Garrett Hedlund rejected the Christian Grey role. Hedlund is 28. This gives fans and critics the idea that producers are indeed looking for actors under 30 to play Grey. According to reports, Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst's boyfriend, was unable to commit to the same role for a couple of years.

Chace Crawford sounded eager to play the sex dominant Christian several months ago. After Gossip Girl ended, the hunky young celeb has not been as busy as before. The production outfits, E.L. James, as well as Fifty Shades of Grey movie director Sam Taylor-Johnson are probably going to pick someone as young as Hedlund and Crawford.

Bomer's and Cavill's fans should not be disheartened, though. Either one of them could snag the role of the slightly older Elliott Grey - not as young, but very competitive in the "sexymetre."

The movie adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, is set to hit the cinemas in August 2014 - a year from now. It is assumed that some parts have been cast, and announcements will be made soon.
