Back in 2012, Robert Pattinson of "Twilight" was the least bit interested in the role of Christian Grey for "Fifty Shades of Grey." However, it looks as if Pattinson's mind has changed about the film because sources claim he's been talking to E.L. James about the role. Will Pattinson be playing the iconic role of Grey for the highly-anticipated film adaptation?

E.L. James took inspiration from Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" to write her erotica novels, "Fifty Shades of Grey." Thus, it isn't surprising as to why a few "Fifty Shades" fans continue to root for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as the best choices to play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey respectively.

Chances are Pattinson might just get the role of Christian Grey. How so? Well, Author E.L. James was seen at Robert's "Great Gatsby" themed party last June 22. This meeting has led fans to believe that Pattinson and James were talking all about the possibilities of being in the film. Sources at the party claim this was exactly what Pattinson and E.L. James were in serious discussion about.

"Rob and E.L. were in deep conversation," says a source to OK! Magazine, adding, "Rob also joked that it would be the best acting of his life, because there is no way he is that confident in real life."

"E.L. said that was still up for debate - if he signed on," continued the source.

The possibility of Robert Pattinson gearing up for the role greatly reduces the chances of another strong contender, Ian Somerhalder. Given Pattinson's connections, Robert could be cast as Christian Grey but do fans have a say against it?
